Titansgrave Episode 5

New Titansgrave Episode!

Titansgrave: Episode 5
Staff of Forlorn Hope
After escaping the Nestoran streets and seeking “refuge” in the sewers, the party is taken to an elevator which leads directly to Mr. Voss. Like all mysterious benefactors, Mr. Voss has a proposition for the party: retrieve the Staff of Forlorn Hope and in return, receive an extravagant amount of gold and an even more extravagant party. Such fetch quests are nothing for our heroes, but will this one in particular turn out to be more than it seems?

In case you missed last week's episode:

Titansgrave: Episode 4
Sewer Terror
After finding themselves declared terrorists in Nestora, the party follows Aucker — a friend of the Beer Baron — to the Nestoran sewers in order to escape their current situation. The city above may have held danger for our adventurers, but will they find even more peril in the ancient city below?

Date Night Board Games

Fun, competitive games for two, that won't cause a fight!

Have an upcoming date night scheduled on the calendar?
Looking for an excuse to stay in and save money?

We’ve got you covered! Finding excellent 2-player games can be tricky, especially when playing with a date, but we think we can help!

Alliance stumbled upon an article by IGN outlining their take on the best 2-player games. IGN included classic games like Pandemic (Z-Man Games) and Small World (Days of Wonder); while mentioning newer titles like Splendor (Asmodee Editions) and Love Letter (Alderac Entertainment Group).

Check them out for your next date night or just another game night with friends.

1) Guillotine by Wizards of the Coast (WOC 21888)

This irreverent and humorous card game takes place during the French Revolution. Each player represents a rival guillotine operator vying for the best collection of noble heads. After three days of executions, the guillotine operator with the most noble heads wins! Will you be skillful enough to bride the guards and collect Marie Antoinette? Or will you lose points for beheading the hero of the people?

2) Love Letter by Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG 5104)

All of the eligible young men (and many of the not-so-young) seek to woo Princess Annette of Tempest. Unfortunately, she has locked herself in the palace, and you must rely on others to bring your romantic letters to her. Will yours reach her first? Love Letter is a game of risk, deduction, and luck for 2-4 suitors.

3) Splendor by Asmodee Editions (ASM SPL01)

As a wealthy Renaissance merchant, acquire mines and transportation, hire artisans and woo the nobility. Create the most fantastic jewelry to become the best-known merchant of them all! Acquire precious stones to trade them for development cards. Use development cards to acquire more gem stones. Use your gems and gold to create the most fantastic jewelry, and appeal to the nobles to gain the prestige you need to win.

4) Elder Sign by Fantasy Flight Games (FFG SL05)

Players control investigators who must successfully endure adventures within a mysterious museum in order to gather clues, items, and the Elderitch knowledge they need to seal the rifts between dimensions and prevent the Ancient One's arrival. A clever and thematic dice mechanic pits their exploration against monsters and the sheer difficulty of staying sane and healthy while investigating the most dangerous exhibits and most terrifying instances of insanity.

5) Legendary Encounters by Upper Deck (UDC 80366)

Defeat Evil and Become Legendary! A deck-building game set in the Marvel Comics universe, Legendary pits heroes against the most vile villains! Players select Hero Decks from the likes of Spider-man, Hulk, Cyclops, or Wolverine, then choose a menacing mastermind like Magneto, Loki, or Dr. Doom (and their rogue's gallery) to challenge and a dastardly scheme to thwart. Over the course of the game, players recruit powerful hero cards to build a stronger, more resourceful deck to fight the villains that threaten them.

6) Pandemic by Z-Man Games (ZMG 71100)

As skilled members of a disease-fighting team, you must keep four deadly diseases at bay while discovering their cures. You and your teammates will travel across the globe, treating infections while finding resources for cures. The clock is ticking as outbreaks and epidemics fuel the spreading plagues, and you must work as a team to succeed. Can you find all four cures in time? The fate of humanity is in your hands!

7) Small World by Days of Wonder (DOW 7901)

Small World, the fun, zany, light-hearted civilization board game! Designed by Philippe Keyaerts as a fantasy follow-up to his award-winning Vinci, Small World is inhabited by a zany cast of characters such as dwarves, wizards, amazons, giants, orcs and even humans; who use their troops to occupy territory and conquer adjacent lands in order to push the other races off the face of the earth.

8) Smash Up by Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG 5501)

Take the twenty-card decks of two factions, shuffle them into a forty-card deck, then compete to smash more Bases than your opponents! Each faction brings a different game mechanism into play ` pirates move cards, zombies bring cards back from the discard pile, dinosaurs have huge power and every combination of factions brings a different play experience. Base cards (each with their own difficulties and abilities) are in play. You attempt to have the most power on the Base from your minions when the Base is smashed. Sounds easy? What about when the Pirate-Dinosaur player Full Sails in and releases King Rex to stomp your minions into the ground, or when the Wizard-Zombies use their Mystic Power to create an Outbreak?

9) Stone Age by Z-man Games (ZMG 71260)

Relive History at the Dawn of Mankind! In Stone Age, players are sent back to that arduous period of pre-history as they attempt to collect wood, stone, and gold with the archaic tools at hand.
